Marilyn Kresky-Wolff, Executive Director

Marilyn joined Open Arms Housing as Executive Director in January 2009. She has a MPH from the Johns Hopkins University and an MSW from Catholic University of America. She has developed model community-based clinical and residential programs, provided clinical supervision for teams of case managers, and has engaged in extensive legislative advocacy. She was co-founder of Crossing Place, a Woodley House program, in Washington, D.C., the Director of Adult Homeless Mental Health Services at the Mental Health Association of Montgomery County, MD, and Chairperson of the Montgomery County (MD) Coalition for the Homeless. 

Prior to coming to OAH, she was Deputy Project Director, U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration‘s Homelessness Resource Center, and Senior Analyst for the Collaborative Initiative to Help End Chronic Homeless and served as a panel member at SAMHSA’s Expert Panel on Prevention of Homelessness in 2011, and was a presenter at the National Alliance to End Homelessness and Housing First Partners National Conference.

Erica Daye, Director Business Operations

Erica

Erica  joined the Open Arms Housing team in 2012. She has over 15 years manangement and business operations experience in the nonprofit sector, specializing in developing business to business and person to person relationships.

Erica has been involved in student activism as a logistics organizer and supporter of Operation Save UDC, a student group mobilized in opposition to a one hundred percent tuition increase that would have increased the disparity of affordable education for low income and international students pursuing higher education.

Her service activities extend to community volunteerism and support to organizations that provide shelter and services to women struggling with substance abuse. A graduate of the University of Maryland University College with a Masters in Non-profit Association Management, Erica continues to use her education, experience and passion in pursuit of her personal philosophy to create the condition and forum whereby people can embrace the principle: power lies in community and activism.

Bridget McLaughlin, Program Manager Consultant - Resident Support

Bridget joined the Open Arms Housing team in 2011. A native Washingtonian she obtained graduate degrees in Social Work and Psychology at Howard University. Bridget has always had a passion for helping and empowering others, particularly women, children and families. Her preference is working in the non profit sector, where she directly services the needs of her clients. Her zest for life  has allowed her to follow her passion of using her empathy, creativity and inspiration to be a source of illumination to those she comes into contact with.

Tecoy Bailey Wade, Peer Support Specialist - Resident Support

 

Ms. Bailey has worked at Open Arms Housing as a Peer Support Specialist since 2014  Her previous training focused on the Fundamentals of Addiction Counseling.  Ms. Bailey is currently pursuing a BS Degree in Social Work at the University of the District Columbia. She is a role model for those recovering from substance abuse and from involvement with the criminal justice system. In her capacity as a Peer Support Specialist she has engaged in advocacy on behalf of individual residents and in legislative advocacy, taking residents to rallies and to testimony in front of the DC City Council. She runs weekly coffee hours, monthly community meetings, works with residents one-on-one to provide supportive services, emotional support, resource finding, and assistance with activities of daily living.  She has charge of fire safety procedures, takes residents on outings, and periodically prepares special activity meals for the residents of Open Arms Housing.
